What the Airlines Say About Hemp Products
The airlines adhere to the rules and regulations set forth by the Transportation Security Administration (or TSA for short). The TSA offers a full list of restricted and prohibited items, as well as items that include special instructions. This list also includes hemp products, though it is listed under the Medical Marijuana section.
According to the TSA’s Security Screening page, hemp products are allowed under certain conditions. The TSA website states, “Marijuana and certain cannabis infused products, including some Cannabidiol (CBD) oil, remain illegal under federal law except for products that contain no more than 0.3 percent THC on a dry weight basis or that are approved by FDA.”
It is important to note that Delta THC products may not fall under these guidelines. The TSA warns that the final decision rests with the TSA officer checking your luggage on whether or not an item is allowed through screening. If you have a gut feeling that your Delta THC product may not be allowed through screening, then it may be best to leave it at home and purchase a smaller size product once you reach your destination or take an alternative product that will be allowed through screening at the airport.
